sound

stuck two earplugs into my ears

and found the world going silent on me

saw the construction excavator cross my line of sight

without the usual annoying sound pollution

that never fails to leave a bitter taste in the mouth

as it rudely wakes me up on weekend mornings

saw "Lucky" playing on my iTunes

without the melodious tunes getting heard

could only imagine how it would have sound

if these earplugs were not on

walked down the street

with numerous people walking on the busy street

with not a single sound

with that eerie yet awkward silence that tingles the goosebumps

someone bumped me from the back

glared at that poor guy

only to remember that he said the "Excuse me" that wasn't heard by me

what's a world without sound?

i smiled as i unplugged the earplugs

and heard you say "Hello!"
